Wieck Photo Database Inc. Appoints Two New Board Members

Tim Roberts , John DePrez Have Long-Term Interest In Success of 10-year-old Company

ADDISON, TX (Nov. 7, 2001)--Wieck Photo DataBase Inc. has expanded its Board of Directors, electing Tim Roberts and John C. DePrez Jr., both of whom have been involved in the company since it was founded a decade ago, to fill two new seats, the company announced Tuesday.

The firm, which does business as Wieck Media Services, provides database and Web distribution services to media companies and Fortune 500 firms as well as to smaller businesses.

Roberts, 36, is vice president and general manager of Wieck and was a member of the team that launched the business in 1991. He developed the company's early system of distributing electronic files through bulletin board services and he pioneered Web distribution of multi-media files.

Roberts guided Wieck through ten years of churning technology advances and most recently was instrumental in developing the company's latest generation of Internet distribution tools.

DePrez, 59, a former publisher of the Shelbyville (IN) News, invested seed capital for the Wieck startup and is a stockholder in the closely held firm.

DePrez is a former national sales manager for media at Reuters, and a former general executive and vice president/communications manager for United Press International. While at UPI, he was an associate of Travis M. Hughs and James F. Wieck, the co-founders of Wieck Photo DataBase, Inc.

"As general manager, Tim has kept the company on track through the rapidly changing developments in technology and communications since our founding," said Wieck, chairman and CEO of the suburban Dallas company. "He is well-known for building strong relationships with our clients and as the person who leads development of the new product and service lines that save them money. His election will give the board a much stronger link to our clients.

"John's vast experience and knowledge of the news industry also will keep us focused on what's important for our clients," Wieck said. "Since retiring from the newspaper business, John has become increasingly available and valuable to us as an advisor. It just made sense to take advantage of his time and expertise and formalize the relationship by putting him on our board."

The other board members are Marge Boatright, president and chief operating officer, who also was a member of the launch team, and Linda Hughs, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
